PM Modi receives phone call from Canadian PM Mark Carney, confirms G7 Summit Participation

New Delhi, June 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday received a phone call from Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. During the conversation, PM Modi congratulated Carney on his recent electoral victory and thanked him for the invitation to attend the G7 Summit in Kananaskis later this month.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to advancing India-Canada relations, recognising the strength of their deep-rooted people-to-people ties.

They agreed to work together with renewed vigour, guided by mutual respect and shared interests. Prime Minister Modi later posted on platform X that he looked forward to meeting Prime Minister Carney at the Summit and underscored the importance of cooperation between the two vibrant democracies.
