PM Modi meets Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya
New Delhi, Oct 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met with Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, who is on an official visit to India. Welcoming Dr. Amarasuriya, Prime Minister Modi said her visit would impart fresh momentum to the historic and multifaceted partnership between India and Sri Lanka. He recalled his own State visit to Sri Lanka in April this year, during which he held wide-ranging and productive discussions with President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka on all areas of bilateral cooperation.
The two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen collaboration in key sectors including education, technology, innovation, development cooperation, and the welfare of fishermen. Reaffirming the special ties between the two nations, Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s steadfast commitment to working together for the shared progress and prosperity of both countries. He also conveyed his warm greetings to President Dissanayaka and expressed confidence in the continued engagement between the two neighbours.
