PM Modi meets Estonian President Alar Karis in Paris
New Delhi, Feb 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Estonian President Alar Karis on the sidelines of the AI Action Summit in Paris, marking their first official meeting. The leaders reaffirmed the strong ties between India and Estonia, built on shared democratic values, rule of law, and pluralism.
Discussions covered a range of bilateral cooperation areas, including trade, investment, IT, digital innovation, and cybersecurity. PM Modi invited Estonia’s government and businesses to explore opportunities within India’s growth story, particularly through initiatives like Digital India.
The leaders also emphasized the significance of their partnership within the broader India-EU framework and welcomed increased engagement through the India-Nordic-Baltic dialogue. They exchanged views on regional and global issues and reinforced collaboration at the United Nations.
Highlighting cultural exchanges, PM Modi appreciated the growing popularity of Yoga in Estonia, highlighting the deepening people-to-people ties between the two nations.
