The Prime Minister’s message comes as the state celebrates half a century of its statehood, a period during which Sikkim has transformed into a model of ecological preservation, tourism, organic farming, and sustainable development. Known for its picturesque landscapes, biodiversity, and harmonious cultural fabric, Sikkim became the 22nd state of India on May 16, 1975, following a historic referendum.
