PM Modi fuels dreams of 1 lakh disadvantaged entrepreneurs
Jammu/ Srinagar, Mar 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday launched the Pradhan Mantri Samajik Utthanevam Rozgar Adharit Jankalyan (PM-SURAJ) national portal and sanctioned credit support to 1 lakh entrepreneurs of the socially disadvantaged sections of the country.
In J&K, 1747 beneficiaries belonging to Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Safai Karamchari community were provided assistance to start a business venture and lead a life with dignity.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha thanked the PM for sanctioning credit support to one lakh entrepreneurs from the disadvantaged sections of the country.
“The PM has ensured that no one is left behind. From basic facilities to education and financial inclusion, he has undertaken many reforms to create a large pool of young entrepreneurs from marginalised sections of the society,” the LG said.
The nationwide outreach event for credit support to disadvantaged sections witnessed the participation of about 3 lakh beneficiaries of various government schemes from disadvantaged groups who joined the programme from over 500 districts across the country.
Earlier, the PM interacted with Neelam Kumari of Kathua who availed government loan facility to start her boutique.
She is also a beneficiary of many welfare schemes like Ujjwala, PM Awas, Ayushman, and Swachh Bharat.
PM Modi praised her for being a job giver and providing employment to other women.
Union Minister of State, PMO, Jitendra Singh also joined the launch ceremony from Jammu.
On the occasion, Ayushman Health Cards and PPE kits were issued to beneficiaries of disadvantaged sections of the society including safai karmcharis, sewer and septic tank workers under the National Action for Mechanised Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE).
SRINAGAR ADMIN HOSTS LIVE STREAMING OF PM’S INTERACTION WITH BENEFICIARIES
As part of the PM's scheduled programme to interact with beneficiaries of various government schemes from disadvantaged groups, the district administration in Srinagar hosted the live streaming of the programme at SKICC.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri; Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, and the officers of all line departments participated in the programme.
During the programme, the gathering at SKICC auditorium watched live streaming of the Prime Minister's speech, marking a nationwide initiative for providing credit support to marginalised sections of society and the Prime Minister's interaction with beneficiaries of various government schemes from disadvantaged groups, including Scheduled Castes, backward classes, and sanitation workers.
The participants also witnessed the launch of 'Pradhan Mantri Samajik Utthan and Rozgar Adharit Jankalyan' (PM-SURAJ) national portal and approval of credit assistance for 1 lakh entrepreneurs from disadvantaged communities.
Later, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri and DC Srinagar, Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat handed over sanction letters among the beneficiaries of different government schemes.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Zahoor Ahmad Mir; Director Local Bodies, Mathura Masoom; and District Social Welfare Officer, Mukhtar Ahmad also witnessed the event.
