PM Modi congratulates CM Omar
New Delhi, Oct 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Omar Abdullah on his swearing-in as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
Omar assumed office as the first chief minister of J&K after the revocation of its special status in 2019.
Taking to microblogging site X, PM Modi posted, “Congratulations to Omar Abdullah on taking oath as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir. Wishing him the very best in his efforts to serve the people. The Centre will work closely with him and his team for J&K’s progress.”
The PM had earlier also sent a message of congratulations to Omar Abdullah when the results of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls were announced and assured full support from the Centre.
The message highlighted the Centre’s intent to collaborate with Omar’s administration, signalling a cooperative approach toward the region’s governance and development.
