PM Modi, Amit Shah pay tributes
New Delhi, Nov 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid glowing tribute to famed Bollywood actor Dharmendra, saying his death marks “the end of an era in Indian cinema”.
“The passing of Dharmendra Ji marks the end of an era in Indian cinema. He was an iconic film personality, a phenomenal actor who brought charm and depth to every role he played. The manner in which he played diverse roles struck a chord with countless people. Dharmendra Ji was equally admired for his simplicity, humility, and warmth. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with his family, friends, and innumerable fans. Om Shanti,” PM Modi posted on X.
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, expressed condolences, saying, “The passing of Dharmendra Ji, who touched the heart of every citizen of the country for six decades with his brilliant acting, is an irreparable loss to the Indian film industry. Coming from a humble background, Dharmendra Ji made an indelible mark in the film industry. He was one of those few actors who brought every character he touched to life, and through his art, he won the hearts of millions across all age groups. Dharmendra Ji will forever remain with us through his acting. May God give his family and fans the strength to bear this grief. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.”
