PM Modi, Amit Shah pay tribute to senior BJP leader VK Malhotra
New Delhi, Sep 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday paid homage to veteran BJP leader and former MP Vijay Kumar Malhotra, who passed away. The Prime Minister visited Malhotra’s residence in Delhi, offered condolences to his family and recalled his contributions to the capital’s development. “His contribution to Delhi’s development and furthering our Party’s good governance agenda will be forever remembered,” Modi posted on X.
Home Minister Amit Shah also offered floral tributes in New Delhi, saying he was “deeply pained” by the demise of the senior leader who “played a crucial role in shaping and expanding the organisation.”
Shah noted that Malhotra, in his various roles, from State Party President of Delhi to Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, always prioritised resolving public issues. “In every meeting with him, I gained valuable insights related to organisational matters,” Amit Shah wrote on X, adding that the party stands firmly with the bereaved family. Malhotra, fondly known as VK Malhotra, was one of the BJP’s most prominent leaders in Delhi and a key figure in the party’s organisational growth.
