PM meets Qualcomm CEO to discuss collaboration in AI, semiconductor sectors
New Delhi, Oct 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Cristiano R. Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm, to discuss India’s progress in artificial intelligence, innovation, and skill development.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister appreciated Qualcomm’s commitment to supporting India’s Semiconductor and AI Missions. He highlighted India’s unmatched talent pool and its potential to develop technologies that will define the future.
Amon thanked the Prime Minister for the engaging discussion and reiterated Qualcomm’s intent to deepen its partnership with India in advancing the IndiaAI and India Semiconductor Missions, as well as facilitating the transition to 6G. He also underlined the potential to build an Indian ecosystem spanning AI-enabled smartphones, PCs, smart glasses, automotive technology, and industrial applications. Following the meeting, Prime Minister Modi shared on X that it was a “wonderful meeting” with Amon, reaffirming India’s commitment to fostering innovation and technological leadership through collaboration with global partners like Qualcomm.
