Announcing the move while addressing a nationwide Rozgar Mela via video conference, the Prime Minister said the portal would ensure that the efforts of deserving candidates “do not go in vain”.

The platform, he said, will allow government bodies, private companies, and institutions to engage with these skilled individuals, creating a bridge between merit and opportunity.

“The Pratibha Setu Portal is a recognition of India’s vast youth potential,” PM Modi said, adding that the initiative would help make “optimal use of the country’s most valuable resource — its human capital.”

The Prime Minister made the announcement as over 51,000 youth across India received appointment letters for government jobs as part of the Rozgar Mela initiative.

Congratulating the new recruits, he said their appointments symbolized both personal achievement and national progress.

“This Diwali has brought a double dose of joy, the festival of lights and the success of employment,” PM Modi said, adding that the appointees’ enthusiasm and self-confidence would drive the country’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.

He urged the new employees to serve citizens with dedication and uphold the mantra of ‘Nagarik Devo Bhava’ — treating the public as divine.

Highlighting his government’s continued focus on employment generation, the Prime Minister said over 11 lakh appointment letters have been issued through Rozgar Melas so far, with further expansion planned under the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, which aims to provide jobs to 3.5 crore youth.

He also cited the role of initiatives like Skill India Mission, the National Career Service, and the iGOT Karmayogi Bharat Platform, which has already enrolled 1.5 crore government employees for online capacity-building.

PM Modi linked recent GST reforms to job creation, noting that the GST Bachat Utsav has boosted consumer demand and production, particularly benefiting MSMEs and retail sectors.

“The GST Bachat Utsav is transforming into an employment festival,” he said, citing record Diwali sales as evidence of renewed economic momentum.

The Prime Minister further pointed out that India’s foreign partnerships, including agreements with the UK, Brazil, Singapore, Korea, and Canada, are increasingly geared towards youth upskilling, technology collaboration, and startup investment.

“India is the youngest nation in the world, and our youth are its greatest strength,” he said, urging the new appointees to become karmayogis in shaping India’s future.
