LG thanks PM for revolutionising rail infrastructure, connectivity

Jammu, Mar 12:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday dedicated railway projects worth over Rs 85,000 crore to the people and inaugurated Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra at Srinagar railway station and Gati Shakti terminal at Samba.

The PM also dedicated ‘One Station One Product' (OSOP) stalls at Anantnag, Awantipora, Banihal, Baramulla, Budgam, Jammu, Qazigund, Katra, Srinagar, Bijbehara, Kathua, Pampore, Pattan, Kakapora, Panzgam, Sadoor, and Mazhom railway stations and rail coach restaurant at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra railway station.

On the occasion, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha thanked PM Modi for revolutionising rail infrastructure and connectivity in J&K and dedicating several railway projects to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on X, the LG said: “A significant day for railway connectivity and infrastructure in the country. PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone, dedicated railway projects worth over Rs 85,000 crore that will shape the economic trajectory of various states and UTs. Grateful to PM for revolutionising rail infra and connectivity in J&K. The opening of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJK) at Srinagar railway station will ensure quality medicines at affordable prices to passengers and livelihood opportunities to many.”

He said that the 'One Station One Product' (OSOP) stalls at Anantnag, Pampore, Pattan, Kakapora, Panzgam, Sadoor, Mazhom, Awantipora, Banihal, Baramulla, Budgam, Jammu, Qazigund, Katra, Srinagar, Bijbehara, and Kathua would provide additional income opportunities to artisans from marginal sections.

The LG said that the OSOP would promote the rich heritage of these areas and strengthen the 'Vocal for Local' and 'One District One Product Campaign'.

He said that these stalls would provide passengers the opportunity to experience and purchase authentic local goods.

LG Sinha said that the Gati Shakti terminal would play a pivotal role in bolstering transportation networks and streamlining the movement of goods across the region.
