PM hails 11 years of defence sector reforms, emphasises self-reliance and modernisation
New Delhi, Jun 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday underlined the transformative progress made by India’s defence sector over the past eleven years, highlighting strides in both modernisation and self-reliance in defence production.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister responded to a message by MyGovIndia, celebrating over a decade of defence reforms. “The last 11 years have marked significant changes in our defence sector, with a clear focus on both modernisation and becoming self-reliant when it comes to defence production.
It is gladdening to see how the people of India have come together with the resolve of making India stronger! #11YearsOfRakshaShakti,” Modi wrote.
The Prime Minister expressed pride in the collective resolve of citizens and the nation’s growing technological excellence in building a secure and self-sufficient India. The government has made indigenous defence manufacturing, innovation, and exports a key priority, with growing investments and policy reforms aimed at reducing reliance on imports.
