PM congratulates ISRO team on successful LVM3-M6 launch carrying BlueBird Block-2
New Delhi, Dec 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated India’s space scientists and engineers on the successful launch of the LVM3-M6 mission, which placed the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil, the US spacecraft BlueBird Block-2, into its intended orbit. Calling the mission a major achievement, the Prime Minister said the launch marked “a proud milestone in India’s space journey” and underscored the country’s growing capabilities in heavy-lift launch systems and commercial space services.
“A significant stride in India’s space sector,” Modi said in a post on X. “The successful LVM3-M6 launch… strengthens India’s heavy-lift launch capability and reinforces our growing role in the global commercial launch market.” PM Modi added the mission also reflected India’s push towards self-reliance. “This is also reflective of our efforts towards an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Congratulations to our hardworking space scientists and engineers. India continues to soar higher in the world of space,” he added. Highlighting the future impact of the achievement, the Prime Minister said, “With LVM3 demonstrating reliable heavy-lift performance, we are strengthening the foundations for future missions such as Gaganyaan, expanding commercial launch services and deepening global partnerships.”
PM Modi also credited India’s youth for the progress of the space programme, saying it is becoming “more advanced and impactful” and that the enhanced capability and self-reliance would benefit coming generations.
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah congratulated Team ISRO on the successful LVM3-M6 launch and said that it demonstrates the mettle of our scientists in transforming India’s space prowess into commercial success. In an X post, Amit Shah said, “Congratulations to Team ISRO on the successful LVM3-M6 launch. The US spacecraft, Bluebird Block-2 that was lifted off today to provide enhanced communication across the world demonstrates the mettle of our scientists in transforming India’s space prowess into commercial success, fulfilling Modi Ji’s vision of making India a global destination for space technology.” Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Minister of State in the PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh, also congratulated Team ISRO on the successful launch of the LVM3-M6 mission carrying the BlueBird Block-2 communication satellite. In a message, the Minister said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ISRO continues to achieve one milestone after another, reaffirming India’s growing strength, credibility, and global standing in space technology.
