presence of the Prime Minister, LG Sinha said that the incidents of terrorism had declined by 75 percent. “Top commanders of terrorist organisations were eliminated. Local recruitment too has almost ended. Now academic calendars, not protest calendars, are issued. Stone-pelting has become a thing of the past. Markets, schools remain open throughout the year.” “The Prime Minister’s steely determination liberated J&K from seven decades of suffering, injustice, discrimination, separatism and corruption. Whole world has witnessed this that the Prime Minister has given the right to live a dignified life to every individual in J&K. People in Kashmir are enjoying night life. The districts, where terror would reign supreme during evening, are witnessing vibrant life with cinema halls and restaurants operating till late night. After the completion of Tawi riverfront, Jammu too will witness vibrant nightlife. Jammu and Srinagar cities are being seen as a new model of urban transformation,” he said.

LG Sinha, effusively praising the Prime Minister said that he had created a new J&K, which was in ready-mode to contribute to the growth story of India, in such a short span. “New J&K is scaling heights in every sphere. This is Jammu and Kashmir of your dreams and new resolutions. I, on behalf of the citizens of J&K, extend gratitude to you,” he said.

The Prime Minister ensured social justice in J&K as for the first time, West Pakistan refugees, displaced people from PoJK, OBCs, Kashmiri migrants, Gujjar-Bakerwals were given their rights, the Lieutenant Governor said.

He stated that Paharis were granted ST status without diluting the share of Gujjar-Bakerwals. “The government was making efforts to conduct Panchayat elections, which were delayed by constitutional impediments.

LG Sinha said that the industrialisation under the leadership of the Prime Minister had changed the scenario in J&K bringing a very positive impact. “J&K received investment proposals of Rs 90, 812 Cr. Investments of Rs 14,000 Cr have either been realised on ground or have been under process. Since 2021-22, 8.34 lakh youth have been given opportunities for self-employment. Over 34,000 government jobs have been given on merit. Just yesterday, we have given approval for over 4000 additional posts in Jammu and Kashmir Police,” he said.
