PM announces Rs 18,000 Cr for Assam development projects

New Delhi, Sep 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Assam on Sunday, unveiled a development package worth over Rs 18,000 crore.

The projects span key sectors including road and rail connectivity, power, petroleum, housing, and health infrastructure.

Among the major initiatives are new railway lines to boost connectivity in the Northeast, expansion of national highways, a petroleum pipeline project, and a super-speciality hospital.

The government said the projects are aimed at accelerating economic growth and improving living standards in the state.

Officials highlighted that the investment is part of the Centre’s broader focus on the Northeast’s integration and development.
