New Delhi, Sep 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced financial assistance to the victims of the Karur stampede in Tamil Nadu. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) will be given to the next of kin of each deceased.
Those injured will receive Rs 50,000 each. In a post on X, the PMO said: “PM @narendramodi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF to be given to the next of kin of each deceased in the unfortunate incident at a political rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu.
