Doda, Dec 11: The Forest Department Doda, in collaboration with Zila Sainik Welfare Board organised a plantation drive in the premises of Zila Sainik Welfare Board Office.
The aim of the drive was to promote the importance of environmental conservation and create awareness about the benefits of planting trees.
In this drive, saplings of Chinar, Cupressus, Salix, Silver oak etc were planted by the participants. This drive was organised as part of the ongoing J&K Green drive of the government through which all 237 panchayats of District Doda will be covered and plants of different species will be planted during winter plantation.
The plantation drive was attended by Divisional Forest Officer Doda, Wing Commander 25 RB Doda, Assistant Conservator Forest Chenab Circle Doda, Divisional Manager J&K Forest Development Corporation, District Soil and water Conservation and Project Officer CAT along with staff of the Board and forest department.
