Pivotal role of DRCS Kishtwar emphasised at Red Cross Day event
Kishtwar, May 8: The District Red Cross Society (DRCS) Kishtwar, in collaboration with the stakeholder departments, on Wednesday orchestrated a remarkable commemoration of the Red Cross Day. The event graced by the presence of Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav, alongside ADC Pawan Kotwal, ACR Kishtwar Idrees Lone, SDM Chatroo Naeem Ur Rehman and DSWO Kishtwar Tariq Parvez Qazi, among others, showcased a unified dedication towards humanitarian cause.
Member volunteers of the Red Cross Society, personnel from the Fire and Emergency Department, Traffic Police, DC office, Health Department, Social Welfare Department and NGO volunteers and media representatives congregated to honor the occasion.
During the event, officials underscored the pivotal role of the Red Cross Society in extending vital assistance during crises, whether stemming from natural disasters or human-induced emergencies.
The Deputy Commissioner lauded the society’s unwavering commitment to fostering peace, safeguarding human dignity, and mitigating human suffering during exigencies. He extended heartfelt felicitations to the Red Cross team and urged the populace to collaborate with them during times of adversity.
In conjunction with the commemoration, a Blood Donation camp was orchestrated at District Hospital Kishtwar, engaging volunteers from the Red Cross Society alongside various other Social Welfare Organizations and NGOs. This initiative served as a poignant reminder of the collective resolve to prioritize humanitarianism and solidarity within the community.
