Pir Panjal receives season’s maiden snowfall
Rajouri/Poonch, Oct 3: The upper reaches of Rajouri and Poonch districts witnessed the season’s maiden snowfall on Friday, bringing the first feel of winter chill to the Pir Panjal region.
The first snowfall was reported from most of the upper reaches in the Pir Panjal region and especially at Pir Ki Gali, a high-altitude mountainous pass situated along the Mughal Road that connects the Pir Panjal region with Kashmir.
According to locals, snowfall began in the morning amid inclement weather conditions, and by noon, the higher mountain pass was covered under the season’s maiden white blanket of 1 to 2 inches of snow.
The weather change has not only dropped temperatures to some extent also provided a feel of the coming winter season in the region.
