Arafat, June 15: A Pakistani pilgrim successfully gave birth to a baby boy on the Mount of Arafat on Saturday, the day of the Hajj. She named him Arafat.

A Pakistani woman welcomed the baby boy during the Hajj pilgrimage, with doctors confirming both mother and child are in stable condition.

The birth occurred at Jabalur Rahma Hospital in the Arafat field today, marking the first such incident this year and adding a unique dimension to the spiritual journey of millions of Muslims.

The mother, who chose to remain anonymous and declined photography, gave birth during her 37th week of pregnancy.

According to hospital sources, the newborn weighs 3.04 kg and is in good health.

Dr Amina Al-Sheikh, the lead doctor overseeing the delivery, expressed her joy at the successful birth, highlighting the baby's healthy condition.

“The birth of a child is always a joyous occasion, and witnessing it during Hajj is particularly special,” she said.

Both mother and baby are under observation for further check-ups.

The Day of Arafat, a pinnacle of the Islamic calendar, provided the backdrop for this extraordinary event. Millions of pilgrims gathered on Mount Arafat to pray, symbolising themes of forgiveness and mercy in the Hajj pilgrimage.
