PHDCCI to host 2 day IP Conclave to boost J&K's innovation ecosystem
Jammu, Mar 26: The PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry will host a landmark two-day conclave focused on promoting industry and commerce through intellectual property rights, promising to be a game-changer for Jammu and Kashmir's entrepreneurial landscape.
A statement said that event scheduled for March 28-29 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, the conclave will bring together key government officials, industry leaders, and IP experts to create a robust ecosystem for innovation and business growth. Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary will inaugurate the event, signaling the government's commitment to fostering entrepreneurship.
The conclave aims to demystify intellectual property rights for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), startups, and innovators. "Intellectual property is not just about legal protection," said a senior PHDCCI official. "It's a critical tool for brand building, marketing, and wealth creation."
Supported by the Office of the Development Commissioner MSME, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, the event will offer participants unprecedented opportunities. A dedicated helpdesk will provide free consultation for IP rights registration and guide participants through reimbursement processes from the Ministry of MSME.
Prominent dignitaries expected to grace the event include Vikramjit Singh, Principal Secretary of Industries and Commerce; Dr. Arun Kumar Manhas, Director of Industries and Commerce; and Yasha Mudgal, Principal Secretary of Tourism. Other notable speakers include Satish Sharma, Minister for Transport, Civil Supplies, and IT, and the Vice Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishnodevi University.
The workshop's core objective is to equip participants with comprehensive understanding of intellectual property rights. From trademark registration to patent applications, the conclave will provide insights into protecting innovations and creating competitive business strategies.
