PHDCCI Kashmir delegation meets Health Secretary
Srinagar, Nov 28: A PHDCCI Kashmir delegation led by Vicky Shaw met with Dr. Abid Shah, Secretary of Health and Medical Education J&K Government, to address healthcare service challenges.
The meeting, which included Co-chair Himayu Wani, Convenor Sajad Shah, and Deputy Director Iqbal Fayaz Jan, was also attended by Nazim Zia Khan, Mission Director of National Health Mission J&K.
The delegation primarily focused on pending hospital claims under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Dr. Shah provided a positive update, revealing that approximately Rs 81 crore in liabilities has been cleared. He assured that by December’s end, nearly all remaining pendencies would be resolved, subject to fund availability.
PHDCCI expressed satisfaction with the current public hospital services and emphasized the importance of public-private collaborations. The delegation also requested enhanced human resource support in hospitals, underscoring their commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and service delivery in the region.
