Srinagar, Dec 5: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) for the Kashmir Region and the Jammu Region, in a collaborative initiative with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for J&K and Ladakh, successfully organized a comprehensive virtual awareness session on the Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) today.

The session was inaugurated by the esteemed Chairs of PHDCCI for the respective regions, A P (Vicky) Shaw (Chair, PHDCCI Kashmir Region) and Rakesh Wazir (Chair, PHDCCI Jammu Region). In their opening remarks, they emphasized the critical importance of skill development and industry-academia linkage for the economic growth of Jammu & Kashmir. They highlighted PM-NAPS as a pivotal scheme for building a competent workforce and urged the business community to actively participate, said a press release.

A detailed and insightful presentation on the operational framework, benefits, and procedural aspects of the PM-NAPS scheme was delivered by Advocate Kehkashan Anjum, State Engagement Officer, NSDC for J&K and Ladakh. Her presentation provided clarity on how establishments can engage apprentices, the financial incentives available, and the seamless process of onboarding onto the scheme.
