PHDCCI delegation meets Dir Industries, discusses industry-related issues

Srinagar, Jan 16: In a proactive initiative aimed at fostering dialogue and resolving pressing concerns, a delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir, led by Er Syed Pervaiz Qalander, Bilal Kawoosa, Shabir Abdullah, and Iqbal Fayaz Jan, convened for a significant meeting with Director Industries Kashmir, Khalid Majeed. The agenda of the meeting was focused on a comprehensive discussion to identify and address critical challenges confronting the local industrial sector.

A statement said that the meeting focused on key areas such as the new industrial policy, turnover incentive, marketing support for existing industries, industrial estate development, validity for availing incentives under IDS, diagnostic study of sickness of industries, the establishment of a New Textile Park at Ganderbal, and awareness programs for startups and students in collaboration with the Chamber.

During the meeting, the delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir engaged in a detailed and comprehensive discussion with Director Industries Kashmir, highlighting the challenges and opportunities within the industrial landscape. The Director, known for his patient and proactive approach, attentively listened to the concerns raised by the delegation and assured them of swift resolutions to the procedural difficulties encountered.

The new industrial policy was a key topic of discussion, with the delegation emphasizing the need for a robust framework that would encourage and support local industries. The turnover incentive and marketing support for existing industries were also highlighted as crucial factors in driving growth and competitiveness.

Industrial estates development emerged as another significant area of focus, with the delegation stressing the importance of creating modern and well-equipped industrial zones to attract investment and foster innovation. The delegation also emphasized the need for a comprehensive diagnostic study of the sickness of industries to identify and address the root causes of underperformance, the statement said.

The meeting also witnessed discussions on the establishment of a New Textile Park at Ganderbal, aimed at boosting the textile industry in the region. The delegation expressed their enthusiasm for this initiative, recognizing its potential to create employment opportunities and contribute to the economic development of the area.

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry extended its gratitude to Khalid Majeed, Director of Industries Kashmir for his patient and proactive approach in addressing the concerns raised during the meeting, the statement said.
