PGIMER Chandigarh team continues examination of patients in GMC Rajouri
Rajouri, Jan 31: A team of doctors from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh Friday continued examination of patients from Badhaal village, presently under treatment at Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri.
On Saturday, a new team of doctors from AIIMS Delhi is expected to reach Rajouri. “AIIMS team will also conduct an in-depth medical examination of patients,” officials said.
A high-level team of doctors from PGI Chandigarh had reached Rajouri on Thursday. It immediately started examination of patients, which continued for the second day on Friday.
The team comprised three doctors along with other staff members and medical experts.
These doctors included Dr Suresh Kumar of Paediatrics, Dr Kapil Goyal from Community Medicines and Dr Nitin Mahindra, from PGI Chandigarh.
The team, assisted by Principal GMC Rajouri Dr A S Bhatia and Medical Superintendent Dr Shamim Ahmed, on Friday, was continuing examination of patients. It also collected necessary samples of patients.
Principal GMC Rajouri, Dr A S Bhatia said that after PGI team, a new team of AIIMS New Delhi, to be headed by its (AIIMS, Delhi) Director, was expected to reach there (Rajouri) on Saturday.
“The team will take up necessary medical examinations of patients from Badhaal who are undergoing treatment here,” he said.
On the other hand, Medical Superintendent (GMC Rajouri), Dr Shamim Ahmed said that eleven patients from Badhaal were presently under treatment in GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri. “They all are out of danger and completely stable,” he said.
