PETs, REKs continue fitness, skill sessions on Day 2 of DYSS Baramulla camp
Baramulla, Dec 10: Day Two of the Residential Orientation Training Course for Physical Education Teachers (PETs) and Rehbar-e-Khel (REK) teachers at Salamabad Uri, organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports District Baramulla, witnessed an energetic and disciplined training environment under the overall supervision of DYSSO Baramulla, Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal,
The day, as per an official statement issued on Wednesday, commenced with an invigorating Yoga session, during which expert instructors demonstrated a range of yogic techniques, focusing on flexibility, breathing, mind–body balance, and mental well-being.
Following Yoga, trainees continued with a series of specialised activity sessions covering Table Tennis, Mass P.T., Volleyball, Marching, and Wushu. A total of 52 participating teachers are receiving hands-on training aimed at enhancing their technical expertise, physical conditioning, and sports-specific proficiency.
During the day, DYSSO Baramulla, visited the training venue at Salamabad Uri, interacted with the participants, and reviewed the ongoing sessions. He appreciated the dedication of the trainees and resource persons, encouraging them to utilise the programme wholeheartedly for professional growth. He emphasised that such training initiatives are vital for strengthening the sports ecosystem and ensuring quality physical education at the grassroots level.
