Jammu, Mar 19: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Mehraj Malik Wednesday refused to divulge details about “non bailable warrant of arrest” issued by Special Excise Mobile Magistrate, Jammu against him, citing it as his “personal matter.” “This is a personal matter. It’s a non bailable warrant and I may be arrested and procure bail. I have not killed anyone. I don’t want to speak on that,” he said, while responding to media queries.

On March 17, 2025, the court of Special Excise Mobile Magistrate Jammu had issued “non bailable warrant of arrest” against Malik in a case filed by former minister Ghulam Mohammad Saroori under Section 499 of Indian Penal Code. Special Excise Mobile Magistrate Jammu, while issuing “non bailable warrant of arrest” against AAP MLA, ordered SHO, Police Station, Gandoh to “arrest the accused Mehraj Din Malik son of Shamas Din Malik, resident of village Tandla, tehsil Chilli Pingal, district Doda, who stands charged with the offences” under Section 499 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and “produce him” before the court on May 14, 2025. Earlier, inside the House, during Zero Hour, Malik referred to the matter of Fire and Emergency aspirants, who continued their protest for the second day on Wednesday.

They were lathicharged by the Police on Tuesday as they had tried to move towards the Civil Secretariat to register their protest against “Government apathy towards their demands.” “Outside our youth seeking justice and their rights are being lathicharged,” he said.

He is In-charge Horticulture here. Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a case against him and sought permission from the government to act against him, which the latter accorded also. His retirement is due after two months, so far, no action has been taken against him. I request the government to take action against him,” Malik said.
