People rue lack of evening transport in Kupwara
Kupwara, Dec 8: Lack of evening transport facilities in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district is causing immense inconvenience to people.
Passengers from different areas of Kupwara have decried the non-availability of public transport during evening hours. The passengers said that after sunset they face immense problems due to the non-availability of public transport. The problem is compounded due to the lack of cabs in the evening.
Students who attend evening classes and individuals engaged in business find it challenging to return back to their homes. The lack of reliable public transport not only disrupts their daily routines but also hampers the overall accessibility and mobility of the residents.
"There is a significant scarcity of public transport options, particularly in the internal areas of Drugmulla and Muqam-I- Shahwali from Kupwara town. This dearth of transportation services poses a considerable inconvenience for the local community, affecting students and businessmen," said a local from Drugmulla area of Kupwara.
The residents have sought immediate intervention of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Ayushi Sudan in this regard so that the hardships being faced by the people may end.
