People of Kashmir ready to embrace BJP: Ram Madhav
Shopian/Pulwama, Sep 16: Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functionary Ram Madhav Monday said that those who promoted radicalism and fundamentalism were now coming together.
“These are the people who promoted radicalism and fundamentalism and now they are coming together to spread it. People of J&K particularly Kashmiris must remain vigilant against such forces,” Madhav said in response to a question regarding Engineer Rashid’s alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami.
He spoke to reporters in south Kashmir's Shopian district after addressing a gathering.
Madhav said that the people of Kashmir were ready to embrace the BJP.
“There was a time when it was said that people would not accept the BJP, but now the situation is altogether different. People want to listen to BJP,” he said.
The RSS functionary said that he was very confident that the BJP would open its account in Kashmir during the upcoming elections.
“I am confident that some BJP members from Kashmir will be elected to the assembly,” he said.
Madhav said that the situation on the ground reflected that the people of this region would not accept the dynastic parties.
Launching a tirade on the Congress-NC alliance, Madahv said that Congress was not going to stay in future.
“I don't want to waste time on Congress. Its end is destined and the National Conference too has to pay a price,” he said.
Later, after interacting with a group of people in Nikas village of the neighbouring Pulwama district, Madhav told reporters that the BJP would form the next government in J&K.
He said that the BJP was going to form the government on its own.
However, Madhav said, “We are ready to work with those who are ready to cooperate with us to make J&K free of terror and dynasty politics in line with PM Modi’s vision.”
He said that they already had the support of the people of Jammu, but now they were receiving it from Kashmir too.
“I am just returning from Shopian where I addressed a gathering of 5000 people,” Madhav said.
He said that Kashmir would soon witness a big change.
