People in Rajouri, Poonch asked to deposit their licensed arms
Rajouri, Mar 20: Ahead of parliamentary polls, the police authorities in Rajouri and Poonch districts has asked all the licensed weapon holders to deposit their weapons in their respective police stations.
The advisory from police has been issued in the wake of orders of the district magistrates of twin districts.
In these orders, the district magistrates while prohibiting the carrying of private weapons by licensed weapon holders have asked the people to deposit their licensed weapons in their respective police stations.
On Wednesday, the police vehicles mounted with public address systems conducted extensive patrols in areas and made announcement in this regard.
The police issued advisory making people aware about the orders of district magistrates asking all the licensee holders to submit their arms within next two days.
It was also informed to the people that any violation in this part will be deal seriously under ambit of law.
