Srinagar, July 7: Stating that Kulgam-like successes were crucial in fortifying the security environment, Director General of Police (DGP) Rashmi Ranjan Swain Sunday said that people were coming together to end terrorism and the operations were gaining momentum in J&K.

“This is undoubtedly a significant milestone for the security forces. These successes are crucial in fortifying the security environment. People are coming together to end terrorism, and the operations are gaining momentum,” he told reporters on the sidelines of a function held at Tagore Hall in Srinagar.

The J&K Police chief said that the recent successes were crucial milestones in fortifying the J&K security environment.

He confirmed that in the Kulgam encounters, terrorists had been killed.

“This is an indication that the security architecture and involvement of people is leading to the flow of human intelligence and this fight against terror will be taken to its logical conclusion,” the DGP said.

He also mentioned reports of local terrorists being involved in these operations.

“We have received news of the involvement of local terrorists as well,” the J&K Police chief said.

On Sunday morning, GOC 15 Corps, Chief Secretary, DGP, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, and others paid homage to the soldiers who were killed in Kulgam encounters.
