Srinagar, Mar 22: The Kashmir Cycling Challenge 2025 made history as the region’s first-ever two-week endurance cycling event, bringing a fresh competitive format to Kashmir’s sporting landscape.

Organised by the Flying Machine Cycling Club and Kashmir Ferruginous Hawks in collaboration with Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute, the event, as per a press release issued on Saturday, tested cyclists' stamina and consistency, marking a major milestone in the growth of competitive cycling in the valley over two weeks.

In the unique challenge, participants recorded their rides daily for two weeks, and winners were determined based on their highest recorded rides during the event. This innovative approach brought a fresh and exciting dimension to competitive cycling in Kashmir, making it a landmark event in the region’s cycling history.

To honour the winners and participants, a felicitation ceremony was held at the Kashmir Harvard School Auditorium on March 18, 2025. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Dr. Shariq Masoodi, Dean Medicines SKIMS Soura, Mr. Tariq Ahmed Baktoo Chairman Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute, Isma Sharief Associate Principal Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute, Mr. Charanjeet Singh Principal Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute, and Mr. Riyaz Ahmed Wani President Jammu & Kashmir Mountain Biking Association.

The challenge saw Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, who also serves as the Vice President of the Jammu & Kashmir Cycling Association, secure first place.

Saqib Ahmed Bhat from Srinagar claimed second place, while Shoaib Shabir from Legends Educational Institute finished in third place.

The Kashmir Cycling Challenge 2025 has set a new standard for endurance cycling in the region. Organisers (Adeel Badami and Rafiq Ahmad) applauded the participants for their dedication and commitment, emphasising that this event is just the beginning of a new era in Kashmir’s cycling landscape.
