Muntazir said the PDP has given him the responsibility to work for the welfare of the constituency. “The seat was left vacant for a year. Our responsibility is to provide relief to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

As per KNS, Muntazir pointed to issues of water and road infrastructure in Budgam. “More than 60 percent of residents still drink contaminated water. Road conditions remain a problem. Our aim is to address these fundamental concerns before moving to larger projects,” he added.

He also discussed steps taken by the PDP in the past year, including the removal of children from the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). “In the last year, we have facilitated the release of 12 to 13 children. Our goal is to provide relief in difficult times,” he said.

Responding to questions on other political leaders, Muntazir said he does not interfere in the internal affairs of any party. “Whether other leaders campaign or not is their decision. Our focus remains on the constituency and its people,” he said. On the broader political context, he said, “The people of Budgam have been waiting for representation. Our responsibility is to address basic governance issues, correct historical challenges, and ensure that the residents’ concerns reach the government.”

Muntazir said the response from the local population has been positive. “The people understand that they should not be used as a stepping stone. Our focus will remain on solving their problems and ensuring that their voices are heard,” he added.
