PDP announces Lok Sabha candidates; Mehbooba to contest from Anantnag-Rajouri seat
Srinagar, Apr 07: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sunday nominated three of its leaders including party president Mehbooba Mufti as candidates from three parliamentary constituencies.
Party’s Parliamentary Board Chairman Sartaj Madani in a press conference at party headquarters’ here in Srinagar made the nomination public. He said the decision has been taken after thorough consultations with senior leaders of the party.
“PDP Chief Mehooba Mufti to contest LS polls from Anantnag-Rajouri seat, party’s youth president Wahid-ur-Rehman Parra will contest elections from Srinagar seat, and Fayaz Mir, a former MP will be fielded from north Kashmir’s Baramulla segment,” Madani told reporters.
“Party's Parliamentary Board has announced the candidatures of PDP President @MehboobaMufti for Anantnag-Pir Panchal, Youth Wing President @parawahid for Central Kashmir and former MP @FayazMiroffice for Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency,” J&K PDP in a post on X mentioned.
