PDP president Mehbooba Mufti appeals govt to lend support to Marwah fire victims
Srinagar, Oct 15: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former chief minister J&K Mehbooba Mufti Tuesday appealed government to extend immediate support and assistance to families affected by devastated fire in Marwah area of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Taking to micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter), the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said: “Seventy residential houses have been gutted by a fire that raged through the village of Marwah Wardwan in Kishtwar. Hope that the government immediately extends support & assistance to these families especially because winter is just around the corner.”
At least 50 residential houses and a Jamia Masjid turned into ashes after a devastated fire broke out in Mulwarwan village in Warwan, Kisthwar on Monday.
Meanwhile All J&K Youth Federation, a non-political youth organization also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and J&K government to support the affected families who have been left homeless in a ravaged fire yesterday.
“Fire Incident Marwah-Warwan in Kishtwar. Hundreds of people have been left homeless.Appeal to the Govt of india @narendramodi @AmitShah Govt of J&K, @OmarAbdullah@RahulGandhi & general public.Please support the people of Marwah-Warwan in whatever way, during this tough time,” All J&K Youth Federation in a post on X said.
