PDP pays tribute to Ex MLA Mir Abdul Aziz on his death anniversary
Srinagar, Dec 20: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) solemnly commemorated the 23rd death anniversary of senior party leader and former legislator, Late Abdul Aziz Mir.
On this occasion, party President and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti,Vice President Mohammed Sartaj Madni,Chairman Parliamentery Board Ab Rehman Veeri, General Secretary Adv Ab Haq Khan and Mohammad Khursheed Aalam, Chief Spokesman Dr Mehboob Beg, Senior leaders Av Gh Nabi Lone Hanjura, Nayeem Akhter Andrabi,Syed Basharat Bukhari, Sofi Abdul Gaffar, Asia Naqaash, Adv M Yousuf Bhat, Honble MLAs Waheed u Rehman Parra, Mir Mohammad Fayaz, Mohammad Rafiq Naik, Aga Muntazir Mehdi and rank and file of the party leadership paid rich tributes to the departed leader, remembering his immense contributions, unwavering commitment, and lifelong dedication to public service, said party press release.
Late Mir Abdul Aziz was a visionary leader who remained steadfast in his principles and worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people. His supreme sacrifice and selfless service continue to inspire generations within the party and beyond through his son party senior leader and former minister Mir Zahoor Ahmad, it said.
The PDP leadership particularly recalled him as the beloved father of senior party leader and former Minister, Zahoor Ahmad. PDP reaffirmed its resolve to carry forward the mission and ideals of Late Abdul Aziz Mir and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held at party headquarters to commemorate the late leader under the chair of party general secretary Mohammad Khursheed Aalam. Party leader's Ab Hameed Kohshen,Dr Ali Mohamad, Arif Laigaroo, Bashir Beigh, Ab Qayoum Bhat, Noor Mohammad Sheikh, M Iqbal Tramboo, Zuhaib Yousuf Mir, Shokia Qurashi, Syed Tajamul, Tawsif Shah, Sheikh Gowher, Javed Firdous, Sara Nayeema, Bilal Sofi, Umer Dar, Fayaz Reshi, Wasim Mir, Sheikh Saba and others attended the meeting.
