Kulgam, April 23:  Former Chief Minister and Vice President National Conference (NC) on Tuesday accused People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of joining the BJP’s proxies.

After addressing election rallies in south Kashmir’s Kund and Dooru areas, Omar told reporters that now PDP has joined BJP’s as its C team.

“Now, BJP leader Mushtaq Bukhari has publicly announced to vote in favour of PDP. I believe that Mehbooba ji will mount pressure on Bukhari sahab to change his statement,” said Omar.

On Tuesday, BJP leader from Surankote Syed Mushtaq Bukahari appealed to Pahari speaking people to support PDP President Mehbooba Mufti from the Anantnag- Rajouri Lok Sabha seat.

Omar said that if people want to defeat BJP and the communal forces, they have to strengthen the INDIA bloc. “They have to send the INDIA alliance candidates from both Jammu and Kashmir regions to the Lok Sabha in order to keep BJP at bay,” he said.

“Except NC, all other parties have their connections with the BJP,”NC leader said.

In response to a question about BJP dropping its sitting MP and fielding Tashi Gyalson in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Omar said that it is the internal matter of BJP and he and his party has nothing to do with it.

“We are concerned about the Congress candidate as we are contesting jointly from that seat too,” he said. The former Chief Minister added that they would ensure to field such a candidate who could rout the BJP.

While addressing a poll rally in Kund area, Omar expressed his surprise over the PDP candidate targeting NC more than BJP.

“It became clear to me yesterday when Bukhari sahab openly supported Mehbooba,” Omar said. Criticising the PDP, Omar said that the party is all set to repeat 2014 post-poll scenario.

“That time they sought votes against BJP and then stitched an alliance with them,” he said.

Omar alleged that even after a decade BJP and PDP’s relations are intact. “After BJP demolished everything in Kashmir, should we still consider voting for them,” NC leader asked.
