Ganderbal, Nov 13: The People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) has received a major boost in Ganderbal constituency as a young face and local youth leader Qaisar Sultan from the Ganderbal has joined the party ranks.

Qaisar joined the PDP along with hundreds of his supporters, in the presence of party president Mehbooba Mufti and other senior party leaders at party headquarters Srinagar.

On this occasion, Qaisar said that he was impressed by the party's agenda especially its vision for the youth of the state. He said youth have been the most neglected, repressed and exploited section of the society and PDP's past performance and its agenda offer hope and confidence to the new generation of a better future. Qaisar Sultan, a local youth leader hailing from Sherpathri area here who has been a closely associated with the DPAP President Ghulam Nabi Azad for last a decade and become a founding member for the DPAP. Qaisar Sultan was also the district president of the party for Ganderbal. He also fought the 2024 assembly elections against National Conference vice president and candidate for Ganderbal CM Omar Abdullah.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, Qaisar Sultan said that being a local resident, he is aware of all the issues in Ganderbal and the purpose of him joining active politics is to serve local people. Qaisar alleged that the National Conference being in power neglected critical issues of Ganderbal. “There is unemployment issue, larger number of educated youth are unemployed and depressed besides there are local issue like major hike in electricity fare, ban on mining in nallah Sindh which is a major source of income for local people “ Qaisar said. Qaisar said that if elected, he will serve people of Ganderbal in best possible way and will not disappoint them.
