PDP delegation assesses damage in fire-hit Rainwari area
Srinagar, Nov 20: On the directions of Party President Mehbooba Mufti, a delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) visited the Rainawari area of Zadibal to assess the extensive damage caused by a devastating fire that left several families displaced and homeless.
According to a press note, the delegation led by Senior Party Leader Khursheed Alam, included Mohit Bhan, Arif Laigroo Sheikh Saba, Abdul Qayoom Bhat, Dr. Ali Mohammad, and Aman Zargar and others.
During their visit, the delegation met the affected families to understand their immediate needs and assured them of the party’s full support during this difficult time. The leaders emphasised the need for urgent relief measures to address the pressing challenges faced by the victims, particularly with the harsh winter approaching.
Recognizing the critical situation, the party has assigned the local leadership the responsibility to organize and distribute relief material, including essential food supplies, medicines, and winter clothing, to the displaced families. Speaking on the occasion, Senior leader Khursheed Alam stated, “The PDP is committed to standing with the people in times of crisis. Our immediate focus is on providing basic necessities to those who have lost everything in this tragic incident.”
The party also appealed to the government to step in and extend all possible humanitarian assistance to the affected families. “We urge the administration to take swift and effective measures to help the victims rebuild their lives. The government must ensure timely rehabilitation and provide the necessary resources to rebuild homes and livelihoods,” the delegation stated.
Mehbooba Mufti, in her message, expressed deep sorrow over the incident and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to providing relief and support to the victims. She called upon the government and civil society to come together in aiding the affected families.
