PDP condemns ‘curbs’ on Mehbooba Mufti, others

Srinagar, Aug 05: J&K PDP State Secretary Arif Laigaroo today condemned the  “restrictions imposed by the administration on party President Mehbooba Mufti and other senior leaders and preventing  them from leaving their homes.

In a statement, Laigaroo emphasised that August 5 is a dark day for J&K. "If everything is fine and the BJP has succeeded in bringing peace and stability to J&K, why is the PDP leadership under house arrest? Why are our associates being locked up by the police? This clearly shows present government’s failure to gain acceptance among the people and their leadership for the unilateral and unconstitutional decision made on August 5," he stated. Laigaroo further added that PDP has always been at the forefront of advocating for public issues, with the restoration of J&K's rights and constitutional privileges remaining a central priority.
