PDD Executive Engineer’s post vacant for over 2 years in Handwara
Kupwara, Nov 23: The residents in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district have expressed resentment against authorities for failing to depute a permanent Executive Engineer at PDD office Handwara resulting in severe hardships to the people.
The locals said two years ago, the then Executive Engineer attained superannuation following which additional charge was given to Executive Engineer Kupwara, but after his transfer the charge has been given to Executive Engineer Baramulla.
“I wanted to meet the Executive Engineer for redressal of my grievance but after visiting PDD Handwara division two times recently, I could not meet him because the said officer was attending Baramulla office both the times. Handwara being the oldest division, I fail to understand why it has been left without a permanent Executive Engineer,” a local told Greater Kashmir.
Contractors are also anguished and demanded full time posting of an Executive Engineer at Handwara so that the hardships being faced by them may end.
The residents have sought immediate intervention of concerned authorities in this regard and have demanded to depute a permanent Executive Engineer at PDD Handwara division.
