Parts of Dal Lake freeze as Chillai Kalan makes an icy entry

Parts of Dal Lake have frozen as season’s coldest night in Srinagar marked the arrival of Chillai Kalan on Saturday. Anantnag was the coldest place in the valley at minus 10. 5 degrees Celsius, while Srinagar recorded the lowest Dec night in three decades at minus 8.5 degrees Celsius.
