Parra urges youth to participate in polls
Anantnag, Mar 31: People's Democratic Party ( PDP) youth president Waheed- ur- Rehman Parra on Sunday urged youth to participate in upcoming LoK Sabha elections by casting their ballot.
"The young people must participate in the elections and cast their vote as it is the only means through which their voice can reach the parliament,"he told reporters on the side-lines of a youth convention in Bijbehara.
Parra said that if National Conference ( NC) president Farooq Abdullah had contacted Mehbooba Mufti over the seat-sharing arrangement, the PDP would have readily ceded all three seats to the NC. In response to a recent statement of the BJP leader Tarun Chug that Muftis and Abdullahs are promoting separatism, Parra said that it is the same party that umpteen times requested PDP to forge an alliance with it. “They even waited for three months," added Parra.
Earlier, while addressing the convention, he said that August 5, 2019 entirely altered the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
"PDP is the only party that is under attack. The security of our leaders was withdrawn. They were evicted of the government accommodation," Parra said.
