New Delhi, Feb 3: Fresh disruption was witnessed in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, leading to the House being adjourned twice till Wednesday morning. The trouble began when Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi attempted for the second time to make a speech during the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address. He tried to repeat a speech he could not complete on Monday. Rahul Gandhi began by referring to issues related to national security and the India-China border clashes. He said he had brought an authenticated copy of a magazine article containing excerpts from the memoir and submitted it for verification.

During the commotion, Lok Sabha Panel Speaker Krishna Prasad Tenneti objected strongly when a member allegedly addressed the Chair using the word “yaar”. “One member addressed the Chair as ‘yaar’. This is Parliament, this is the Lok Sabha. The Chair cannot be addressed in such a manner,” Tenneti said, according to PTI. He added that some members later came near the Table of the House and threw papers, calling the behaviour “objectionable”. Opposition MPs protested against what they said was the repeated interruption of the Leader of the Opposition. Tenneti then moved on to call another member to speak, but the member declined. As the uproar continued and papers were thrown towards the Chair, the Lok Sabha was adjourned.
