Srinagar, Nov 17: Paras Health Srinagar on Monday conducted an intensive emergency and trauma care workshop, bringing together more than 50 doctors from hospitals across Kashmir.

A statement of Paras Health Srinagar issued here said that the training programme, part of the hospital’s ongoing capacity-building initiative, aimed at equipping emergency physicians with advanced skills in rapid response, trauma management, and coordinated emergency care.

The workshop was led by a panel of senior medical experts, including Dr Altaf Umer Ramzan, Vice-Chairman Neurosurgery, Dr Muhammad Haseeb Gani, Senior Consultant Orthopedics, Dr Toufeeq Ahmad Mir, Consultant Neurology, and Dr Shafat Ahmed Kenu, Medical Superintendent, along with Paras Health’s in-house emergency care specialists.

Officials said the participating doctors received hands-on training in trauma care protocols, emergency decision-making, injury stabilisation, and critical case management.

Simulation-based drills and practical demonstrations were a key part of the sessions, helping doctors learn life-saving interventions required in high-pressure scenarios.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr Murtuza Habib, Facility Director, Paras Health Srinagar, said emergency readiness remains central to strengthening healthcare systems.

“Emergency care is the frontline of any health system, and preparedness is key to saving lives,” he said. “We are investing in building local medical capacity so that no critical patient is lost due to a lack of timely intervention. This workshop reflects our long-term commitment to ensuring doctors across Kashmir are trained in the latest trauma management protocols.”

The programme also served as a platform for peer learning, enabling doctors from different institutions to collaborate and share region-specific insights on handling trauma cases.

With its continuing focus on specialized training and emergency-care enhancement, Paras Health Srinagar is emerging as a key driver in improving trauma response capabilities and expanding access to high-quality emergency services in the region.
