Dr Fazili recently managed two remarkable cases that highlight the hospital’s expertise in advanced uro-oncology.  “One such case is that of a 73-year-old female patient who sought a second opinion at Paras Health after consulting multiple super specialty hospitals. On October 14, 2024, she underwent simultaneous surgeries for synchronous (simultaneous) cancers of the kidney and colon.

Despite multiple comorbidities, the onco-surgical teams successfully removed a large tumor from the right kidney through partial nephrectomy, preserving kidney function, and subsequently excised the colonic cancer during the same session,” a statement said. “Post-operative monitoring revealed a smooth recovery, with recent pathological reports confirming a cure for both cancers.”

In another remarkable case, a 57-year-old male presented with a non-functional kidney affected by severe inflammation likely due to Xanthogranulomatous Pyelonephritis. “On October 15, 2024, the uro-onco surgical team successfully performed a nephrectomy despite the challenging condition. The procedure was successful, and the patient made an excellent recovery, returning to his normal activities soon after,” hospital said.
