Palpora residents seek macadamisation of dilapidated road
Srinagar, Jul 14: Residents of Palpora area of Sonwar have expressed resentment over dilapidated roads in the locality.
“Palpora road has not been macadamised for the past eight years. This has caused significant problems for the local community, especially school children, who are suffering due to potholes,” said a delegation from the area.
“Our area has been totally neglected on developmental front. While most of the roads in the city have been macadamised, our road has been left out,” they said.
“Due to potholes and uneven surface, several people have been injured. Many vehicles have also been damaged as the road stretch has caved in at many places,” they said.
The delegation of the area comprising Hilal Ahmad Bhat, Ghulam Rasool, Altaf Mir, and Mehraj Din sought intervention of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to redress the issue.
