Kupwara, May 18: Senior BJP leader and Chairperson Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today said that Pakistan was taught a strong lesson through Operation Sindoor, in which terrorist structures were demolished inside Pakistan by Indian forces.

Dr Andrabi along with other senior leaders of BJP were on a visit to Karnah to meet the shelling affected families.

She condemned the shelling by Pakistan on civilian areas in Karnah, causing loss to property and leaving several families homeless.”Pakistani shelling has caused damage to several houses with the result many families have lost their shelters and are now homeless,s” said Dr Andrabi while assessing the damage along with party MLA and BJP General Secretary Ashok Kaul. She said that the situation in Karnah was very depressing as several families have lost their shelters and most importantly their belongings have also turned to ashes. “I along with other senior BJP leaders are here to assess the losses and stand in solidarity with the victims” she said.

The senior BJP leader said that following the completion of damage assessment by local administration, the central government would extend full support in terms of relief package. To a question about individual bunkers, she said that since Pakistan cannot be trusted, so underground bunkers will be constructed on a mass scale across the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

Referring to Pahalgam killings, she said that Pakistan has always tried to derail the peace and tourism in Kashmir Valley. “Tourism was at its peak, which didn’t go well with Pakistan, so the enemies of peace, killed the twenty six innocent civilians in Pahalgam,” she said.

Meanwhile BJP in a statement said, “In a show of unwavering solidarity and deep concern for the people living along the Line of Control, a Senior BJP delegation led by Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Org) J&K BJP, today visited the devastated villages Hajinar, Shamispora, Bhatpora and Traboni in Tehsil Karnah”.
