Pakistan Army targets 6 sectors in Jammu region
Jammu, May 6: Pakistan Army Tuesday targeted six sectors across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu region for the third consecutive night on Tuesday, by resorting to unprovoked firing which was retaliated in equal measure by the Indian Army.
According to the Army, the ceasefire was violated across the LoC in areas opposite Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Nowshera, Sunderbani and Akhnoor sectors in the Jammu region.
However, the areas across the LoC in the Akhnoor sector in the Jammu district witnessed an exchange of fire between two sides for the eighth consecutive day on Tuesday.
However, areas in Rajouri and Poonch districts have been targeted by the Pakistan Army intermittently since April 28, 2025.
During the intervening night of April 30 and May 1, 2025, the Pakistan Army had targeted across the International Border in the Pargwal sector of Jammu district.
But during the past three days, all six sectors across the LoC in Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu districts witnessed consecutive ceasefire violations. “During the night of May 5 and 6, 2025, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small-arms firing from posts across the Line of Control (LoC) in areas opposite Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Nowshera, Sunderbani and Akhnoor in J&K. Indian Army responded in a proportionate manner,” PRO Defence Lt Col Suneel Bartwal said.
