Pak national held from Pallanwala; search operation in Kathua

Jammu, May 14:  Police Tuesday apprehended a Pakistani national from the Pallanwala area of the Khour sector in Jammu district.

Meanwhile, security forces launched an intensive search operation in Juthana village of Rajbagh area in Kathua district after locals reported the movement of five suspects.

Police said that a Pakistani national, who identified himself as, Zakir Khan, 35, a resident of Karachi, Pakistan was arrested when he was roaming in the village Millan Di Khui of Pallanwala in suspicious circumstances.

“Though no incriminating material has been recovered from his possession so far yet investigation is underway. Preliminary investigation suggested that he is mentally unstable. An FIR No 23/2024 U/S 2/3 EIMCO (Egress and Internal Movement Ordinance) in this connection has been lodged at Khour Police Station,” police said.

In a related development in the Kathua district, security forces conducted intensive searches after villagers of Juthana in the Rajbagh area reported the suspicious movement of five suspected terrorists.

“However, so far, the security forces did not get any trace of suspects. A search operation was being monitored by senior officers,” police officials said.
